Itinerary 3 - 3 day tour, 2 nights in desert - an
ideal introduction to the Oases

Day 1 |
7am start from hotel. Travel by
minibus to Dush Temple in Baris. 1 hr stop then on to Dhakla
Oasis. Stop at camp for 1 hr, then camel ride into the desert to watch
the sunset. Travel back to the Oasis in 4 x 4. Dinner at the camp and party night. |
Day 2 |
Visits to the most important historic sites in Dhakla.
If time permits a visit to a carpet factory.
Travel in a 4 x
4 into the desert. Stop for lunch at the Magic Spring, and optional swimming
in the pool and burial in hot sand. After lunch a 2/3 hour drive to the Great
Sand Sea. Stop for the night here with a barbecue and party round the camp
fire. There is an option here of sleeping in the camp or outside in the desert
under the stars. (Sleeping bags/blankets can be provided if necessary) |
Day 3 |
After breakfast drive to Kharga Oasis, on the way visiting the
Bagawat Tombs. Lunch at the Oasis, and a visit to the Hibis Temple. Drive
back to Luxor stopping at one of the army checkpoints for tea.
Arrive back in Luxor approx 6pm. |
